Do you connect with the world to disconnect from yourself?

The relationship between how we connect and how we communicate is direct only when it comes to volume. A bridge may join 2 cities but only the cities will decide how they will engage and communicate.The tendency for connectivity is clear, volume without precedents..However the communication trend is a very different story and one not so positive. I look at Twitter feeds, #FB and the rest and see the same situation, everybody connecting and sharing information but very little meaningful communication.

VoIP is a much more manageable option when you are dealing with large groups of people as you can reduce the incoming communication to chat. By doing so your stride is not broken and you can deal with the question when you are ready.
There are times when the objective is to talk (transmit information) and other times when the objective is to listen (receive information).
